Mechi Mental Wellness has been providing high-quality mental healthcare to the Birmingham metropolitan community since 2019. Dr. Demechiko French, the founder of Mechi Mental Wellness saw a need for comprehensive mental healthcare in our area and have been committed to that mission throughout the years. At Mechi Mental Wellness, we offer outpatient face-to-face services as well as online sessions via tele-psychiatry. Mechi Mental Wellness, provides psychotherapy and medication management to children, adolescents, and adults. We treat several psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia, postpartum depression, and other psychiatric diagnoses.
Dr. Demechiko French, the CEO and Founder of Mechi Mental Wellness is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner, with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient service and corrections. Dr. French is married to Monique Rusell French, and they have two wonderful kids Harlee Elizabeth and Daxton Russell French.
Dr French is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where he completed his high school curriculum at A.H. Parker High School. He has a passion for treating the underprivileged, and vulnerable population.
Dr. French’s college education consists of:
· Associate Degree in Nursing from Lawson State Community College, Birmingham, Alabama.
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama.
· Master of Science in Nursing with a dual concentration in Psychiatric/Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama, Birmingham, Alabama.
· Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
